Guided Historical Walks
12.00 An archaeological focus to walk starting at Skerries Mills via Strand Street and Church St – Brendan Grimes (Skerries Historical Society)
14.00 A guided walk incorporating the Viking Town, the medieval town and harbour history, meet on North Beach (near the cormorant sculpture) – Niall Roycroft (Skerries Historical Society)
16.00 A guided walk featuring the history of the graveyard and grave stones, the development of the road network, the haven and mill stream. Meet at entrance to Holmpatrick graveyard – Niall Roycroft
Self-Guided Tours around Town Centre (map guides available in shops and to download)
14.00-15.30 Visit a number of points of historical interest around the town and learn about the trades in Skerries in 1911, children’s toys and games, suffragette campaign, the street lighting debate, the opening of the library.

15.00 Town Centre Park (near the tennis courts). Period refreshments will be served.

The Little Theatre will be fully in 1911 atmosphere (music, costumes etc.). Note dates. This concert is one month later.
The weekend is being organised by Skerries 1911 Group, with the support and involvement of Skerries Historical Society.
Skerries 1911 Group is a sub-committee of Skerries Community Association.
