Skerries Clean Up Day

Sunday 18th April

Skerries News in association with Skerries Community Association is delighted to announce that the first ever “Clean Up Skerries Day” will take place on Sunday April 18th as part of National Spring Clean.
By happy coincidence, the Department of the Environment have nominated Skerries in an all Ireland tidy towns competition. The judges will be visiting Skerries in May, so the timing of the clean up is good.
Anyone can get involved in National Spring Clean, just check the website for details covering how to get involved, ordering a clean up kit and promoting your event. You should register your group on the National Spring Clean website where you will find out all you need to know about running a spring clean, see www.nationalspringclean.org
When you have decided where you want to clean and the time of your event, contact the SCA at info@skerriesca.com and Skerries News at editor@skerriesnews.ie and we will put details on our respective websites and send out regular newsflashes about who is cleaning where. This will help to promote your event and to avoid duplicating efforts.  Clubs might want to make a social occasion of it and serve refreshments afterwards.
Skerries News will cover events of the day in their May edition.
To set the ball rolling, Skerries Adopt a Beach will organise a beach clean and Skerries Community Association will hold a clean up around the Old School and Community Centre areas. These will be from 2-4pm
